As I mentioned earlier, my husband, I'll call him "Mr. Kermit" until he gets his own blog up and running, is a huge gamer. Knowing this I'm sure brings no surprise that we have games such as Rockband and Guitar Hero in our house.
This evening Mr. Kermit and I were playing Rockband, he was guitar and I was vocals. Usually I'll play guitar or bass also, but I had the urge to sing Alanis Morissette' "You Oughta Know."
We usually have a groupie or two prancing around our feet while we play. And when I say "groupie" I really mean "house cat." We have two cats and one of them in particular, Kittie, loves to come hang around us while we're playing Rockband. Typically Kittie just plops herself down somewhere in the room where she can watch us and sits there for the duration of our playing time. Tonight she decided to take it up a notch and join in the fun. So as I sit on the couch singing my part, Kittie jumps up next to me. I assumed this was her usual antics for a little attention, so I scratch her behind the ears and thinking nothing more of it. Then she jumps on the floor and starts meowing, then up on the ottoman in front of me, and meows some more. Next thing I know, she's up on the sofa arm pushing her face right up into the microphone I'm singing in to!Thanks to Kittie, I lost a few points because I started laughing at her when I should have been singing. Both of us had a pretty good laugh over her because she kept doing it. There was something about it that had her all excited. I just hope it was because she liked hearing me sing instead of her way of trying to get me to stop.
